Influence of music on society

Music has always been a great influence on the society and its people, especially youths. It has been a source of entertainment, inspiration and passion for them.

       Music could not only be taken as a hobby but it could be the safe guard of the history of society, like some of the old folk music expresses about the lifestyle of people who lived decades ago and about their favorite things to do during that period of time and the way they loved to spend their free time.

A person who compose or plays music is known as musician. The person who plays a musical instrument especially as a profession is known as a musician. Every instrumental musician have their own way of style of playing a musical instrument which varies according to their genre of music. Musicians perform in settings such as arenas, concert halls, bar, pub etc.

Musicians are well known for their talents and their creativeness. The compositions made by the musicians are recorded in a studio and are produced in a CD or DVD. The earning of  musicians are based on the  number of recordings that are sold in the market. An instrumental musician may play a particular musical instrument that he/she prefers like a guitar, piano, violin, drums etc.

An object that is used to produce musical sound is known as musical instruments. In particular, the device which produces sound that gives a pleasant sense of feeling to our ears is called a musical instrument. The origin of musical instrument dates back to 67,000 years ago. Flute is considered to be one of the oldest musical instrument which was constructed using a bamboo stick. Other old instruments were said to be created using animal skins, bone and wood. Many musical instruments were used by many people all over the world. According to the respected cultre and origin, these instruments varied from place to place. Different instrument are used accordingly in different genre of music.

Rock music has a number of influence on many people all over the world. It gave rise to many popular bands from the 1950s till date. A rock band  usually consist of  3-5 members. A singer, guitarists, drummer and pianist.

Some of the popular rock bands are Beatles, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Deep Purple, Metallica and many more. The song recorded by these bands are liked by many people who are interested in listening to rock music. The concerts organised by these bands are attended by the people who listen and love their music.

 There are millions of people all over the world that prefer different genre of music according to their wish. Some may prefer slow music while some prefer fast music. The type of music they prefer is generally categorized by its genre. A music genre is a category that identifies the type of music. Music genre can be based on the type of song, lyrics used and instrument played in the music. The different type of music genre are rock, blues, jazz, classic, alternative, folk, country music, hip hop etc. Every music genre reflects different type of art-forms.

Classical music was basically originated from the European society in the late 18th century. Classical music has been recognized through out the world by many people. The famous classic musicians were Beethoven, Mozart etc. They were well know for the artistic symphonies.Classical genre of music has influence on many people and many other genre of music has also been originated from it.



      Even in the context of Nepal classical music has been one of the major genre of  music chosen by the people in 19th century. Narayan Gopal is regarded as the father of classical music in Nepal.
